What's New: January 2025
It’s been another big month for reports, as we released several new reports, columns and filters.
Specifically, we released three new and improved reports:
- The Attendance Report helps keep track of lateness, no-shows, and attendance patterns
- The Key Alerts Report centralises notifications about staff who are late to work, haven’t clocked their breaks, are an overtime risk, and more.
- The Leave Balance Report summarises the balance of each leave type for an employee
Additionally, we added several filters and columns to existing reports, making them more powerful and user-friendly.
We also expanded our Saved Reports functionality to include most of our Payroll Reports, making these more customisable.

Throughout January, we made a few key upgrades to our Award functionality.
Specifically, we created a new ‘Clear Payroll Config’ button, which allows you to reset an Award Template to Tanda’s default settings. Note that these changes can’t be reverted, so only use this if you’re certain!
We also created a few new rules and automations. For example, you can now create an Award Rule that automatically applies if an employee works outside their availability.
Additionally, we made it possible to configure Higher Duties jumps for entire teams under certain circumstances, not just individuals.

After releasing our new Long Service Leave feature in Queensland late last year, we expanded that release to also include Western Australia.
We plan to release this feature to other Australian states and territories soon, so stay tuned!

We also updated how roster validations appear on the Mobile App. Now, roster validations will appear before publishing a roster on Mobile, alerting you to potential issues (e.g. a shift clash) and preventing shifts from being published until these are resolved.

For Tanda Payroll customers, additional warnings have been added to indicate when an STP submission is overdue. Warnings will appear on the main Pay Runs page in your account, and act as a failsafe to help ensure you're meeting your reporting obligations.

Our Leave Autofill functionality helps automatically populate leave request hours based on an employee's regular hours of work or rostered shifts.
Now, you can configure leave requests to automatically populate based on an employee's recent pattern of worked shifts. Specifically, this method checks how often the employee has worked the requested day in the last 5 weeks.
This is especially helpful in scenarios where full-time staff work their hours across varying days and times in the week.
